Ranking high on Google search with your Google Business Profile (formerly GMB) page is super important these days. Here are our 5 top tips for helping you increase your rankings.

Reviews matter.

Gone are the days when you have a few 5-star reviews and see good Google Business Profile placement. Google’s algorithm loves reviews. The more the better. And Google loves consistency. So, pick up the phone, or send out emails every week, every day, or whenever you can. Make time for asking for reviews. They’re so important, they’re #1 on our list!

Post photos regularly.

Inside your Google Business Profile page, you can post photos. Photos of your team, your office, your conference room, you on the courthouse steps, and more. Anything “work” related can be turned into a photo on your Google Business Profile page. iPhone photos are great for this. Especially if you have your location services turned on in your camera settings. Then Google can read your location data for each photo, which also helps in the Google Business Profile rankings.

Post content.

Inside your Google Business Profile page, there is a section named “Posts”. In that area you can make posts, just like you would on Facebook. In fact, whenever you post something on Facebook, you should click over to your Google Business Profile page and post it there as well. With a photo. Doing this several times a week shows Google you are active on your Google Business Profile page and providing useful content to your visitors.

Make sure all of your sections on the left of your Google Business Profile page are filled out.

From Posts to Website, click on each link and complete the section.

Interact!

Interact with your Google Business Profile visitors. Always reply to their reviews… “thanks for leaving us a 5-star review. It was a privilege working with you”, and many variations of that reply will go a long way with Google’s algorithm. If someone asks a question on your page, answer them. Google rewards interaction on your Google Business Profile page. Google likes customers visiting the page, but they like you visiting the page as well.
